Dick Allen SI cover: The story behind the iconic 1972 photo - Sports Illustrated

Coming off their longest layoff ever, Ack and Kiz make their triumphant return! Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of ground to cover. The guys discuss their takeaways from the 2020 season, including the storylines, the surprise teams who are for real, and memorable individual performances from the whacky 2020 season. In our Baseball Reference Page of the Day, we discuss a should-be Hall of Famer, whom we recently lost, Dick Allen. Hooray Sports!

Live from the road in Kiz’s car, he and Ack are back with episode 58 talking about the disastrous New York Mets and the most important day of a lost Orioles season. After they get through the teams in disarray, they move onto some good things in baseball: the Yankees, Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger, and Christian Yelich. After giving a shoutout to former D3 star Tim Locastro and Max Scherzer’s gutsy performance, they give their best to Big Papi and briefly discuss their thoughts on the DH rule. As always, Baseball Reference Page of the Day closes out the show, this time featuring Zack Greinke. Hooray Sports!

Hooray Sports!

54: Joe Rivera

Related imageAck and Kiz welcome on writer Joe Rivera from The Sporting News and hit on a multitude of subjects from the most interesting teams in the early season to this year’s crop of rookies. After discussing Indy ball and getting romantic about baseball, the guys hear some of Joe’s Mantle Moments and get schooled on Star Wars. Joe gives a shoutout to his youth in Baseball Reference Page of the Day by choosing the most underrated member of the 90s/2000s Yankees, Bernie Williams. Hooray Sports!

Hooray Sports!
